Polish Kielbasa Utica NY

Polish Kielbasa in Utica, NY means a trip to the Pulaski Meat Market at 1201 Lenox Ave, Utica, NY 13502.

Vincent Bulawa is the man!

Vincent makes traditional Polish Kielbasa the way our parents and grandparents enjoyed. He uses only the freshest ingredients and all his smoked sausages and meats are hardwood smoked to perfection on the premises!

He uses old family recipes and makes everything with a lot of love. You get a little love in every mouthwatering bite, not a bunch of fillers and chemicals you find in mass produced Polish Kielbasa you find shrink wrapped in the chain store.

Polish Kiebasa (sausage) has been around for centuries and there are many varities to enjoy. Even today smoked suasages and meats make up over 50% of all meats sold in Poland.

What is in Polish Kielbasa?

Traditionally pork is the main ingredient in Kielbasa, other meats used are beef, veal, ham, and wild game meats like venison; along with garlic, salt, pepper, marjoram, mustard seed, and other spices.

Kielbasa is the general Polish word for sausage and could mean any kind of sausage from any country. When people think of Polish Kielbasa in there minds eye and nose, the are thinking of the dark brown smokey and garlicky Polish Sausage, Polska Kielbasa Wędzona.

Making smoked kielbasa entails cutting the meat into chunks and curing it with nitrites, an essential ingredient to prevent spoilage and harmful bacteria during smoked sausage making. After curing, spices are mixed in and the Kielbasa (sausage) is stuffed into natural hog casing. Then it is cold or hot smoked depending on the type of kielbasa being made.

Take a look at the label on the Kielbasa you buy at the supermarket. Looks like a lot of extra chemicals and things you can’t figure out what they are. If you want the best old world Polish Kielbasa and fresh meats and cold cuts, skip the super market and head down to the Pulaski Meat market, It’s worth the trip.

When you want to serve and enjoy the finest homemade Polish Kielbasa or “Polska Kielbasa” in Central New York you will want to go to the Pulaski Meat Market at 1201 Lenox Ave, Utica, NY.

When you get out of the car in the vicinity of the Pulaski Market you can smell something delicious in the air.

A Poem inspired by Vincent’s magic!!

Polish Kielbasa

Walking down the street my senses are aroused.
The nose knows!

Stopped in my tracks I pause and turn into the wind.
Yes! I’m on the right track because
The nose knows!

Nostrils flared, tunnel vision points to the door
The nose knows!

My pace quickens I open the door
The nose knows!

Garlic and smoke oh what a smell
The nose knows!

Mouth watering I shout out
Polish Kielbasa I’ll take it all!
The nose knows!
